The DM5 has been designed specifically for field work. It is both light weight yet robust. The incident illumination is an LED battery powered system that gives an excellent level of lighting without the need for a mains electricity supply. The optical parts of this instrument are optical glass despite its economical price.
The x10 widefield eyepieces together with the x2 objective gives a x20 overall magnification that can be extended to x30 and x40 with the use of additional eyepieces (available as accesories). Focus is acheived by a simple rack and pinion system. This stereomicroscope represents incredible value and is ideal for those needing a portable instrument for use in the field. Highly recommended.
