BM1 Long Arm Stereo

BM1 Long Arm Stereo

The BM1 is a budget priced long arm stereomicroscope that is ideally suited to the examination of large specimens with its exceptional working distance and versatile long arm stand. The stereo head is supported at the end of an extended horizontal arm which may be clamped to allow viewing at any convenient angle. The heavy stable base acts as a counterbalance, allowing the microscope head to be used at the maximum extension of the arm arrangement. The support poles are finished in chrome and the body work in pale grey enamel. The vertical support pole stand is situated towards the back of the base unit and the horizontal arm can be raised and lowered to suit the size or position of the specimen. There is a separate additional support ring which can be clamped beneath the horizontal pole end block to ensure stability. The stereohead has an integral rack and pinion focus system and can be fully rotated on the end of the horizontal support pole if required. Illumination is provided by a tubular spot light which is attached to the stereo head by an adjustable arm which ensures illumination of the specimen irrespective of the stereohead position. The base unit contains a 12volt transformer system with on/off switch and fuse. The BM1 has an excellent optical performance with x10 widefield eyepieces and x1 and x2 objective pairs supplied as standard, with a x3.5 objective as an optional extra. Magnification range x10 and x20 as standard. A range of eyepieces from x5 to x20 together with the accessory x3.5 objective gives the BM1 a potential magnification range of x5 to x70. The stereohead has upright eyetubes with full interocular adjustment and dioptric control to one of these. The BM1 has an impressive range of accessories that includes photomicrography (35mm and digital) attachments, CCTV adapters, micrometer eyepieces and a stand alone quartz halogen transmitted light base that includes its own rheostat controlled transformer. The transmitted light base can also be fitted with a dark ground base and object clamp for gem examination. Field of view 20mm (at x10 magnification). Working distance 230mm (at x10 magnification). Dimensions 390 x 130 x 390mm. Weight 6Kgms approx.
