Welcome to Microscope Source! With modern-day technology, microscopes and their uses are becoming more and more prevalent. From highly scientifc and biological uses to amateur and educational work, there are many different types of microscopes available with many useful features. Use the menu to the left of the page to navigate through our catalogue of microscopes to learn more.
A microscope is mechanical device primarily used for looking at materials and object that so small that they are not viewable by the naked eye alone. Using the combined sciences of opticals and light reflection, manipulated and controlled through lenses, a microscope can be used to view items undetectable by human sight, such as bacteria.
Before you buy a microscope you will need to work out exactly what you want to use it for and how it will best meet your needs. Simple microscopes use one or more lenses to enhance and enlarge images, and are good for simple educational work. Compound microscopes have two lenses: one for the eyepiece and one of short focal length for objective perspective. These multiple lenses work to minimize both chromatic and spherical aberrations so that the view is unobstructed and uncorrupted.
